What we hold

When you add yourself to the census we hold the answers you give: the name you want recorded, any other names you have worked under, your email address, your country and city, your mediums, and, if you choose to answer, your year of birth, the year you began working, how you trained, how you fund your practice and your website. We also record the date you gave consent.

We do not ask for anything else, and nothing about you is bought or collected from other sources.

Why we hold it

To count you in the census and to describe the conditions artists work in. Your email address is used only to confirm your record and to let you correct it.

What is published

If you choose to be listed, your name, city, mediums and website appear in the published census. If you choose to be counted without being named, your name and website are never published. In both cases your answers contribute to published figures in aggregate, and your year of birth, training and funding are only ever published in aggregate. Your email address is never published.

What we never do

We never sell your information, never share it with dealers, advisors, auction houses or collectors, and never charge you to be counted. We hold no inventory, take no commission and advise no collector.

Correcting or withdrawing your record

You may review, correct or withdraw your record at any time. Write to office@chronicleoflivingartists.org from the address you registered with.
